Where To Find Christmas Cards On Sale

The bigger your family, the more Christmas cards you are going to need. My family is huge, and I have learned that the best way to be able to afford to buy all the Christmas cards I need is to plan ahead, and to buy a few boxes of Christmas cards, rather than to buy each family member an individual Christmas card. I find this is the best way to save money on Christmas cards. I have become something of an expert when it comes to finding sales on Christmas cards. Most of these sales will begin the week before … Continue reading

Effective Use of Christmas Cards

Well, I finally got around to sending our Christmas cards out yesterday. It was interesting on the weekend to read in the Sydney Morning Herald that Australia is the fourth largest greeting card market in the world. We come behind the US, UK and Netherlands. Of course all of those are not Christmas cards. But the article said on average Australians send out 21 Christmas cards a year. We must be sending out someone else’s share as well as we sent out more than that. Not surprisingly between 85-95 percent of the cards are bought by women. We usually buy them … Continue reading

Christmas Carols

I’m a sucker for Christmas carols. Three of my favorites are ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel,’ ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘What Child is This?’ Mick’s favorite, as others mentioned in the forum, is ‘Silent Night.’ But, as Janet and others said there are so many great carols to choose from. One of the reasons I particularly like ‘What Child is This?’ is because the birth and the death of Jesus are linked together which they should be. Too often it seems people want to enjoy and celebrate the Christmas story and the birth of Jesus as a baby but forget … Continue reading

I’ve included generally ornaments and even some that would be great for a theme. Just think, you could have a designer tree without the designer prices. For no-fuss tree decorating, just hit your local … Continue reading

The After Christmas List

There are always great sales after Christmas. This is where I often gather new items for the next year. So, I’ve decided to make a new list, an after Christmas list, of things I want to pick up at those tremendous sales. Last year, I was able to obtain some very nice, new Christmas ornaments for mere pennies on the dollar. They were marked down anywhere from 50% to an incredible 90% off the regular price. I found some lovely hand-painted glass ornaments in a variety of styles and colors. My favorite set has four deep green, four deep red, … Continue reading
