Ask yourself some of these questions and see if you have what it takes to be a frugal fanatic: Do you hang most of your laundry? Really frugal folk use clothes dryers only when extremely necessary. Instead, they prefer to let sunshine do the work for free. The average family would save about $30 in electricity costs every month by hanging their clothes. Do you reuse everything? If you are a frugal fanatic, you have a stash of all sorts of items that you hope to be able to reuse. Some of these things might be metal lids from juice concentrates, paper toilet paper rolls, old CDs, or empty coffee cans. Do you make your own cleaning products? There really are people out there that make their own laundry soap. In addition, there are methods for making your own bathroom and kitchen cleaners, hand soap, beauty products, and baby care items. Do you know where all of your money is going? You cannot even start to think that you are frugal if you don?t stick within a strict budget. Budgeting is one of the most important parts of a frugal lifestyle. Can you list at least seven other uses for vinegar? In addition to cooking, vinegar can be used as a frugal alternative for many other things. Vinegar can be used in your laundry, down your drain, in your shower, on your carpets, on your windows, in your toilet bowl, on your skin, etc. Do you shirk at the idea of buying convenience foods? Buying frozen dinners, precut vegetables, or packaged lunches is definitely part of the lifestyle for a frugal fanatic. Instead of buying these things, you might consider freezing your own meals and making your own grab-and-go snacks.
