Oh the Temptation Hey did you notice that crackers were on sale? You just can't pass that one up, even though crackers weren't on your list. The sales aisle can pose as a huge temptation to purchase more than you want or need. There is a reason that this aisle is usually placed in the front of the store. With an empty cart, you are more likely to grab some items to fill that cart up. There Is No Comparison The sales aisle has some great bargains, right? Look, there is a jar of pasta sauce for only $1.09! Whoo hoo. But wait. You didn't realize that another brand of pasta sauce normally sells for only 99 cents, and the store brand sells for 89 cents. Having all of the sale items in one row prevents you from comparing the different brands. One Size Fits All While that grocery store sales aisle may be filled to the maximum, you still don't get to see all of the sales that might be available, especially on store brands or on different sizes of the product. So while the sales aisle may be featuring the two pound jar or mayo, all sizes of that mayo may be on sale, meaning that you can happily purchase the one pound jar and avoid the waste while still getting the sale.
