Clothes Shopping Secrets

Shopping for clothes can be a challenge for anyone. Let's face it, they get expensive and as children grow, so do their sizes. It's a necessity that we all must purchase, though there are some secrets to make it easier and help you save on costs.

SHOP OFF SEASON!!

I cannot stress that enough.

My favorite time of year to shop is the end of the season. At the end of the summer I pick up the cutest clothes for my kids to wear NEXT summer!

And in the fall, after all the back to school clothing is out, I find the cutest clothes for my kids to wear back to school NEXT year!

And the winter, oh how expensive those little snow boots and coats are....well, just wait until March or April, and shop! You get major savings and a nice winter wardrobe for the following winter.

I purchase as little as I possibly can that is not on the clearance or sale rack.

My daughter's 2005 back to school outfit from the mall was absolutely adorable! She looked so cute and it was probably a $65-$85 outfit.

But how much did I spend?

At the end of the fall the previous year, I purchased it from Dillards on clearance and with a sale. It was about $5 for the top and $7 for the bottoms. I had purchased a new pair of shoes on sale at some point last year in one size bigger than she was wearing (we tend to do that with shoes we like). Those shoes were around $3 on sale when we bought them. So, I spent (over the course of a year) Less than $20 on a complete outfit!

And if you shop at Wal-mart, Target or K-mart, the savings are even greater! I purchased an adorable little shirt for my daughter to wear this coming summer for only $2.00 a few months ago. And I got a pair of shorts for $3 that matches.

We just bought her some sandals the other day for $5 on clearance and they are super cute and fun! I recommend watching all the time for clearance and sales that aren't necessarily seasonal.

Right now in her closet, she probably has about 8 outfits all ready for the new school year to begin. This school year hasn't even ended! And we've already broken into the summer container that I bought stuff for last summer. She loves all the new clothes and I feel good because I saved a fortune on clothes!

So be sure and always shop off season! This applies to adult clothes too; the off-season clothes will be cheaper at those times of year as well.

So when is the best time to shop? Winter clothes - March, April, and May Spring Clothes - June, July, August Summer Clothes - September, October, November Fall Clothes - November, December, January

Happy Shopping!

I'm sure you can! Saving money is important when shopping for clothes. Especially for children, as they outgrow them so quickly.
