A new trend seems to be emerging. Some schools are now banning lunches made at home and are requiring kids to buy lunch at the school. It is a growing trend for more and more students to bring their lunch to school. More and more parents are packing up lunch boxes rather than paying the cafeteria for their children’s lunch. Banning Chocolate Milk Doesn’t Improve Nutrition

Parents who had children in several schools in Oregon noticed what they viewed as a problem. The kids were much more likely to drink chocolate milk than they were to drink white milk. The parents believed that banning the chocolate milk would force the kids to start drinking more white milk. Instead, things did not work out as planned. Waiver of Fees

In some previous articles it has been discussed that the public school system provides students with opportunities for free and reduced lunch. Through this program, children can eat breakfast or lunch in the school cafeteria for a reduced charge or for free of charge. There are certain income requirements that families must meet to sign up for this program. Some of you may know that I have jury duty this week. You always meet interesting people on jury duty. Yesterday I met a women who warned me of the serious psychological damage I’m doing by not allowing my children to socialize in a structured environment.
