Frugal Fall Fun For Your Whole Family

by Nicole Humphrey | More from this Blogger

It is finally September and it is the start of my favorite time of year. I love the fall or autumn season and cannot get enough of being outside observing nature. I also love that some days are wonderfully warm, some days have a soft breeze and still other days are downright cold. So what kinds of things can you find to do on these crazy ever-changing days?

Library or Book Store

While I appreciate being outdoors during this time of year, I also appreciate a fall theme being celebrated somewhere. Our local library and several of our bookstores host fall related events such as story hour, fall crafts or activities and finding some books on fall activities is high on the list too.

Malls

With schools back in session, many children are involved in holiday or seasonal performances and many of them take place right there at your local mall. They are always free, and if they are not free, go to the upstairs and look down. You get a great birds eye view and some free entertainment.

Community Center

Many towns have community centers and these centers offer low cost or free sports activities or other seasonal activities. Many do special events once school has resumed and it would be a great idea to call your local center and find out what is coming up in the next few weeks. You might find something for the whole family.

Church Activities

Several local churches in our area have all sorts of fun activities offered and they are completely free. There are fall carnivals, autumn festivals, choir concerts, performances, live bands, children only events and much more. Contact your own church or local churches in your area and ask what they have planned for next few weeks. Usually the churches will advertise their upcoming events on a board near the road. Be sure and keep your eyes out for a fun family activity for you all to enjoy.
