More fun and frugal ideas for decorating are offered here. I gave you a couple yesterday in Frugal Halloween Decorations Made By Hand (1). I enjoy making my Halloween decorations because it saves money, and is a great family activity. Here are a few more ideas to get you going and get you in that creative Halloween spirit!

Pots, Pots and More Pots

I love decorating with clay pots. Painting on them for some reason is a huge tension release. And holiday time is a great time to have some fun. You can use these pots to hold candy, plants or anything else you want. And the great thing is that clay pots come in several different shapes and sizes allowing for complete creativity. We've made tons of pumpkins, ghosts and candy corns.

For Pumpkins: Paint entire pot orange. Add face with black paint or permanent marker. You can tie a green ribbon around the top or use the saucer and paint it green placing it on top instead of at the bottom.

For Ghosts: Paint White. Add black eyes with paint or permanent marker. This one is cuter if you turn the pot upside down.

For Candy Corn: We used lots of small pots for this (the really little ones). Separate the pot into sections. Paint one section orange, one white and one yellow. We added candy corn scented candles to ours.

Other fun things to make: Frankenstein, Black Cat, Black Cauldron (use black pipe cleaners for tale or cauldron handle), Mummy (rap in white fabric strips), etc.

Halloween Wreath

Making a Halloween Wreath is easy. I am a nutty one, I love having a wreath on my door during all seasons of the year. Often I create my wreaths to be seasonal rather than Holiday specific, but I do make them for holidays too. Here's how to go about creating a fun and festive Halloween Wreath.

You will need to either purchase a cheap wreath which you can typically find at Michael's or Walmart. You can also make your own from sticks and pliable branches. Attach some old plastic flowers, and spray paint the entire wreath jet black. Don't wait for it to completely dry, and take white spray paint and very lightly spray over it with the paint. It will give it an "old effect" and looks really cool. Add a ribbon or bow, red is a preferable color. Next see if you can find any old Halloween trick or treat or party toys. Otherwise visit the dollar store and pick up some pumpkins, bats, spiders, skulls, or whatever fun Halloween trinket you find and glue those all in place.

Enjoy and have a FESTIVE Halloween!!
