Frugal Uses for Leftover Ham With Recipeby Nicole Humphrey | More from this Blogger 15 Jun 2007 03:36 PM Continuing the new series, on what to do with leftovers, I bring you a favorite food in our home. Ham. Our kids absolutely love ham, and we eat it more often than I personally, would like. However, I do enjoy it. Because we cook huge hams, each time that we prepare them, we are left with tons of leftovers. Probably aside from whole turkey's, the most of any other meal we make. Ham is one of those items, that doesn't always taste good in just anything you plan to use it in. However, the more I looked for Ham recipes to use up the leftovers we had, the more I noticed that most of them called for cubed or chunks. Leftovers are easily made into that, allowing for more recipes to be made with them. Here are some great ways to use up leftover ham:
Here is one of our favorite family recipes for leftover ham. Cheesy Ham Casserole 2 cups of cubed cooked ham 1 cups of grated cheese, honestly any kind works well, but cheddar, American and swiss taste great. 1/4 cup of chopped green pepper, can be omitted for picky eaters 2-3 cups of cooked noodles 2 Tablespoons of milk 1 can of cream of mushroom soup 1/8 cup of onion In a casserole dish, mix all of the ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until hot. Related Articles: Frugal Uses for Leftover Turkey Frugal Uses for Leftover Chicken For more great recipes, visit the Food Blog.
