Ghosts To create ghosts to hang from tree's in the yard or inside your home, inflate a round balloon or use a beach ball or other small ball. Place a white sheet or tablecloth over it. Tie a piece of white string below the balloon or ball. Cut eyes out of black felt or construction paper and stick on. Some people prefer to use paint or markers to make the eyes. Take outside and hang from your porch or a tree in your yard. You can also make this project in a smaller scale by creating tiny ghosts to decorate a tree using tennis balls or ping pong balls and handkerchiefs or rags cut to the size you need. Tombstones To create tombstones just take several piece of heavy cardboard and cut into tombstone shapes. Paint them gray and write scary epitaphs on them, or add some humor by writing something funny with a black permanent marker. Spider Webs These are so super easy to do. Purchase black, grey or white yarn throughout your trees and bushes in the front yard. Or attach between pillars on your front porch. See below for some spooky spiders to add. Spiders Paint tennis balls, Styrofoam balls or anything else you wish to use black. If you use Styrofoam you can take black pipe cleaners and stick them in as legs. If you decide to use tennis balls or something else, just glue the pipe cleaners on or use black construction paper to make the legs. Place them on the webs you created with the yarn. Scarecrow I think this is my favorite decoration at this time of year. Just grab an old pair of jeans or better yet, overalls. Stuff them with balled up newspaper. Find an old plaid shirt or really any type will do and stuff it up with newspaper as well. Get some straw and have it sticking out of the cuffs of the shirt and the bottom and top band of the pants. Add a pumpkin to the top of the shirt for a head and if you have an old straw hat lying around use that too. You can set him up in an old patio chair in the yard or on your front porch.
