Wow everyone with luxury, whimsey or fun as you impress yourself with your talent. Making gifts for the holidays is so much fun. And there are some great ideas out there to help you choose and create a custom gift that will have plenty of wow factor. Here are some classic ideas to get you started.

I love making homemade gifts. Not only are they frugal when you have a limited budget, but you can put a bit of love into each gift. To me, making a gift is just a little more special than going to the store and buying one. Have you ever made a homemade gift? Which ones are your favorites?

Chocolate coffee spoons are a delicious and very easy gift to make. You simply melt chocolate and dip plastic spoons. Then, allow the spoons to cool on waxed paper. Wrap them in cellophane or plastic wrap and tie with a pretty ribbon. You can get very fancy, such as white chocolate spoons drizzled with dark chocolate, chocolate spoons drizzled with crushed candy canes or sprinkles, two-tones chocolate coffee spoons and more.

Candy pretzel sticks are another easy gift to make that kids and adults like. Once again, you'll be using chocolate. Purchase some pretzel rods, dip them in melted chocolate, and then roll them in sprinkles or crushed nuts. Allow the pretzels to cool on wax paper, and then wrap them up or place them in a pretty tin.

Homemade shower gel is a quick and easy present to make. Just take a cup on mild unscented shampoo (such as baby shampoo). Add a half a cup of water, a tablespoon and a half of salt, a few drops of food coloring, and a few drops of an essential oil in a favorite fragrance. Using a funnel, pour the gel into pretty bottle (check your local thrift store) and wrap it up. That is all that there is to it. And if you are wondering why we added salt; well that is to help the shampoo turn into a gel.
