Make Your Own Blemish Scrub

If you want to treat blemished skin in a natural way, don't look to those expensive creams, lotions and potions that promise natural ingredients from the four corners of the earth. Instead, look to your own garden or grocery store to find everything that you need to make your own blemish scrub. You can customize your products for your skin and save lots of money at the same time.

To make this great blemish scrub, you will need the following:

  • 1 peeled and seeded tomato, preferably home grown or organic
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, fresh from the lemon
  • 1 tablespoon of oats

Here is how you assemble this blemish scrub.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Peel and seed the tomato and place it in a blender
  2. Add in the 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
  3. Add in the 1 tablespoon of oats
  4. Mix the ingredients in the blender until everything is combined.

To use your scrub, apply it to your face and wait ten minutes. Then rinse with lukewarm water. You'll need to make this scrub fresh from scratch every time you use it. I would recommend a once a week treatment with it.

The tomato gives your skin the acidity to help fight the blemishes, while the lemon juice acts as an astringent, cleaning and tightening your pours. The oats act as a gentle scrubber to scrub out the dirt and dead skins cells from the surface of your skin and your pores.

Also, a good tip to keep in mind whenever you make your own health and beauty projects is to test them first. Test your creation on the inside of your elbow or inner arm, where your skin is especially sensitive. This way, if you react to the homemade product, you will find out before you apply it to your face.
