Diaper Tips & Trivia

Whether you like cloth or disposables, here is everything you always wanted to know about diapers and diapering, with a few fun bits of trivia thrown in for good measure. Many parents feel a disposable diaper to judge if it needs to be changed. But unless the diaper has been on for so long that it is leaking, the weight and the smell of the diaper is a better indication of whether or not it is wet. Diaper manufacturers refer to pee or poop as “the insult.” In other words, they do studies about how much “insult” a diaper can … Continue reading

Ideas for Your Child’s Christmas Tree

There is something so magical about seeing a baby next to a Christmas tree. One nice idea is to create a small tree that is just for baby. You can place this tree in baby’s room or in a playroom, keeping it out of reach of course, especially if you add any lights or breakable ornaments to the tree. Baby-friendly tress can be explored by your baby under supervision. I suggest that you get a small table top tree for this project. Artificial trees work best, as there are many different sizes to choose from, and you won’t have to … Continue reading

The Best Prices on Disposable Diapers Today

Sales and coupons aside, there are times when we just need to pick up diapers at the store. Often, we don’t have time to do all of the coupon cutting and sale shopping that is required for getting a good deal. Or, we find ourselves with one diaper left (an emergency situation) and we would almost gladly pay any price just to have a package of them magically appear. Stocking up when we do come across sales is often difficult to do with diapers, since babies outgrown sizes unpredictably, and then there is the matter of potty training. While I’ve … Continue reading

Short and Sweet

When it comes to scrapbook layout titles, I like ‘em short and sweet. I don’t care for long, languishing titles that sprawl across two pages, snake around corners and trail down the sides of page designs. But that’s just me. I get a certain satisfaction from coming up with cute quips that double as bold titles. What’s more, when you have a short title you have more flexibility in your layout. For starters, you don’t have to worry about squeezing all of the words on a single page. Moreover, you save money by not having to use as many embellishments … Continue reading

Toddler’s First Birthday

One of my daughter’s young friends officially entered toddler-dom. Today my daughter and I went to our friends’ house to celebrate their youngest turning one. The venue was perfect for the seven toddlers in attendance. The bounce house should have been a big hit, but the toddler pool and sprinkler held far more amusement. I couldn’t help but remember my daughter’s first birthday party. Jessie joined our family two months before her first birthday. We invited all of our friends over to the house and ate pizza. All the children played together with Jessie’s toys. Jessie and a friend’s three-year-old … Continue reading

Excuses For Not Using Coupons

You’ve heard the excuses to keep spending more money than you need to. You know which excuses I’m talking about. The “I don’t have time to clip coupons” excuse. (It might interfere with watching tv). Then there’s the “coupons are no good anyway, the food is all processed and unhealthy” excuse. Apparently those folks have never heard of Mambo Sprouts, or the great deals you can get in store on meat, produce and dairy when you shop carefully. There’s the “you can’t really save money because those products are always more expensive” excuse. The “I only see coupons for things … Continue reading
