Stocking Up On Diapers Ahead Of Time?

Stocking up on diapers while you are pregnant is a good idea for a number of reasons. When you have a newborn, making trips to the store is a little more work than it used to be, so anything you can do to eliminate these trips is a plus. When you don’t have an immediate need for diapers, you can wait around for the best sales and buy in bulk at rock bottom prices. You won’t have that luxury once you have the baby and all you have left is what’s still packed in the diaper bag. (Now, if you … Continue reading

More Using Diaper Boxes

In a previous article, Using Diaper Boxes, I talked about some great uses for these boxes in the garage and on our porch. Now I’ll cover even more uses for these handy boxes. What are diaper boxes? They are the large, sturdy boxes that you get when you purchase your baby diapers in bulk. Bulk diapers can be purchased, usually, at a warehouse store or even at some baby stores, such as Babies R Us. I find that purchasing diapers in bulk really saves money. And to save even more, I take advantage of the boxes in which the diapers … Continue reading

But regardless, we have … Continue reading

Adventures of a Beginning Couponer Part 3

Today, I took all of the coupons that I clipped and sorted yesterday and compared them to the store sale flyers for the grocery stores that are close enough to my house to shop at. I also browsed through the Dollar General flyer because there is a Dollar General right next to Shaws in my town. Since I am easing into couponing, I did not look for every single item on every coupon that I have, I pulled out a few coupons for items that we could use right now and searched for those items. Anyways, I did not find … Continue reading

Shopping Made Simple

Going to the store used to be pretty simple. I’d throw on my jacket, grab my purse, stuff my car keys in my pocket, and go. Now that I have a baby, it’s not so simple. First of all, getting ready to leave takes longer. I have to time it so that my daughter has a full belly as close to departure time as possible. She needs to be dressed appropriately for the weather. I check and double check the diaper bag to make sure I have teething medicine, diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and enough toys to keep her entertained. … Continue reading

Saving Up For Baby

Babies are expensive. There are tons of things to buy: diapers, clothes, cribs and strollers, just to name a few. If you have ever looked at the cost of a hospital delivery, your jaw probably hit the floor! For instance, the cost to hook me up to the monitors for a couple hours? Over $500! I didn’t even see a doctor or eat any of their food! I have a few strategies that I have used or plan on using the next time around to offset the cost: Pregnancy = Part Time Job I vowed to my husband, “next time … Continue reading

New Uses for Shaving Cream

A while back, I got a great deal on shaving cream. I was able to buy 20 cans of it for 10 cents a piece, using sales and coupons. The only problem, of course, is that my husband uses an electric shaver most of the time. I reserved one can for my husband for his occasional blade shave, and then I gave five of the cans to my father, who does use shaving cream. I donated ten cans of the shaving cream to a shelter through our church, but that still left me with four cans of shaving cream. I … Continue reading
