My Favorite Bargains

I love a good bargain, don't you? I thought it would be fun to share some of my best deals with you.

Winter Gear

Last summer I found nice winter coats for my youngest two children at a local super-center. The price tags read $35.00 each, but the coats were of course on sale since it was 100 degrees outside. I paid $7.00 for one and $5.00 for the other. I also found snow boots for $3.00 per pair and gloves for 50 cents.

Jeans

Jeans tend to go on sale during the summer, so buy them when it's hot and save them for the next school year. I love getting $25 jeans for $5.00 per pair!

Pajamas

Can you believe the prices of pajamas and robes these days? Even for small children, they can be pretty expensive. Buy winter pajamas in the summer and vice versa. I have actually purchased new flannel nightgowns and pajamas for my kids for just $1.00. Can't beat that!

Socks

With six people in this family, you might imagine that we can go through lots of socks. For some reason, boys socks tend to be cheaper than girls socks (even cheaper than the plain ones with no lace or embellishments) and they also tend to be on sale more often. I have purchased boys white crew socks on more than one occasion, for about half what girl's brands cost (and no one knows the difference).

School Supplies

I love the back to school sales. Last fall, I bought spiral notebooks for just 10 cents each. As I headed for the check out line, I decided to go back and pick up more of them. I ended up buying a whole case. My kids have used almost all of them, and when I checked the price the other day, they were going for 97 cents each. Luckily, school is almost over. I can't wait for the next sale so I can stock up again.
