Baby Skin Problems

This morning, as I was caressing the cheek of my youngest child, I was in awe at how soft it was. The expression soft as a baby’s bottom is said for a reason. Baby skin is amazingly smooth and glowing. But that doesn’t mean that baby skin isn’t prone to problems. Here is a quick guide to common baby skin problems. Diaper Rash Diaper rash is caused when irritants and wetness come in contact with your baby’s skin. It can usually be cured by using a diaper cream at every changing, especially at night, and, or by letting the baby’s … Continue reading

10 Fall Plants that Attract the Birds: Part 4

This morning, the kids and I hunted around the yard for pine cones. We wanted to slather them with peanut butter and roll them in birdseed as a Thanksgiving feast for the birds that visit us. Still, there are other ways of attracting the birds. I have been mentioning different fall plants that will work. We are now at the end of this list. Here … Continue reading

When Do You Decorate for the Holidays?

This morning, as we were sitting down for a leisurely breakfast, I glanced through the dining room at the picture window in the living room. I beheld a very strange site. There were our fall decorations: a jolly scarecrow, a basket of small pumpkins, a thick wire pumpkin candle holder, a cloth in a soft fall burgundy and more. Just past the decorations, the view outside was incongruous. The scene showed a wintery wonderland of woods. Suddenly, my fall decorations looked out of place. Traditionally, we usually wait until the middle of December to begin the holiday decorating. Maybe, if … Continue reading

Breakfast for Dinner

If you want to save some money on your grocery bill, try this trick. It really does work! Last night for dinner, I cooked up some chicken sausage and scrambled eggs with cheese. It was a filling meal containing lots of protein, and cost so much less to prepare than a traditional meal. And while it is true that the price of breakfast staples, such as eggs and flour have gone up, the reality is that is is still usually cheaper to eat breakfast than it is to eat dinner. Just go into any restaurant, if you don’t believe me. … Continue reading
