The Paper Conspiracy

Being frugal, we tend to save a lot of things that other might think are a waste of time. And, you know, sometimes they are right. This past weekend, I went down into the basement to do a little organizing. We still have boxes on shelves from our move as well as tons of kids craft supplies and workbooks that need some better organization. One thing I realized is that we are just overflowing with paper, card stock and cardboard. How did this happen? We get a ton of paper from my son’s school. Most of the time, the paper … Continue reading

The Smelly Home Conspiracy

There is a huge market out there for home fragrance products, all of them vying for your hard earned money. The advertisements seems to tell you that if you don’t buy all of this stuff, your home will smell and you won’t have any friends. If your child’s room doesn’t smell like the scent of pineapple or a summer breeze, then you must be a bad parent. And only dirty housekeepers don’t have a home that smells like a fresh lemon or a spring day. Out of the good of their hearts, they will even give their little machines away, … Continue reading

The Snowman Conspiracy (2)

What happens when a blogger starts noticing the snowmen. Is she right or just crazy? This is part two of The Snowman Conspiracy. Those are so easy to collect aren’t they? My collection first started with a Christmas gift from our in-laws. It is the cutest door sign that is personalized with our name. It features three snow people, two adults and a child, a representation of our family at the time. We still cherish it and display it, even though our family has grown from three members to five. After that, we just had to have some stuffed snow … Continue reading

Don’t Fall into The Paper Towel Trap: Alternatives

In an earlier blog, I talked about the paper towel trap and how those paper towel commercials made you feel like a bad parent if you don’t buy their product. They try to make you believe that the paper towel is a necessity in the American household. After all, how would you clean up spills and wash your windows, right? Well, think about it, how did people do these things before paper towels? Really, I’m not as much of a conspiracy theorist, as I must sound. It is just that I don’t like waste, and paper towels are a big … Continue reading

Hackers Hope to Disclaim Global Warming

Hackers have broken into a server of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit and posted private emails and documents on the Internet in hopes of showing that scientists have exaggerated global warming concerns. The Climatic Research Unit, a leader in global climate change research, said that about 1,000 emails and 3,000 documents were posted on web sites after the hackers broke in and stole the information. It is not known as to whether all the emails and documents are authentic. As with most issues, there is a debate over whether global warming is really occurring due to man-made … Continue reading

Challenge yourself to only use half of everything in your regular routine today. Not only will you save, but it may teach you exactly what you need and don’t need. What is a half day? Domestic Diva Banned from Britain

She may be out of prison but there are some people in the world who aren’t about to let Martha Stewart forget that she is a convicted felon.
