Wedding on a Budget: Affordable Invitations
by Sherry Holetzky | More from this Blogger
Invitations can become an expensive part of your wedding. However, you can find beautiful invitations at discounted prices if you shop around. Many companies that print wedding invitations price their wares competitively with other shops, but they can still be quite costly. While the invitations and accompanying accessories are lovely, you can find others that are just as attractive for less money.
Discount invitation companies have less pricey options available. Print shops and stationary shops that sell other items, rather than specializing strictly in invitations, also offer good discounts. Check out some of the online stores, such as Budget Wedding Invitations. They have a full line of beautiful invitations, note cards, reception cards, thank you notes, envelopes, as well as other accessories, and their prices start as low as $29.95 per hundred invitations. Don't forget to take a peek at other online stores, like Jam Paper, which has a large assortment of stationary, envelopes, etc. and also has a "wedding helper" page.
You can even print your own, using special wedding invitation kits that are made especially for your printer. Many kits come complete with invitation cards, note cards, thank you notes, and envelopes. Order these in plenty of time, so you have time to receive them and print them before it's time to send them out.
If you're really feeling creative, consider designing your own wedding invitations and reception cards. You can print them off your computer. You can purchase lined or other high style envelopes, or opt for plain to accompany them. Several different companies, such as Action Envelope, offer envelopes separately, in a wide variety of styles, colors, and price ranges.
Consider asking an artistic friend or family member to lend a hand in creating your invitations, with your input of course, if you don't have time to do it yourself.
