What to Buy for Your Home in October

In a previous post, I talked about some grocer food items that you should get ready to buy in October, even to the point of starting to stock up on those coupons, now. There are other bargains out there in October, especially for the home. You can save a lot of money in two major areas in October, if you are ready for the sales.

The first area that I want to talk about is in home appliances. Stores will start reducing appliances in late September, and the deals will culminate in October. This is because most of the new models will be coming out soon, just in time for the holidays. Appliances are still big sellers as gifts, believe it or not. You'll clean up when you buy last year's model.

So if you are in need of some new appliances, now is the time to start doing your research. Figure out what brand and features that you would like to have. Would you consider a floor model or a scratch and dent appliance? You may get the biggest discounts here. Educating yourself now will help you late when you go to purchase your appliances. You can arm yourself with comparison pricing and be in a great position to negotiate.

The other area to concentrate on for home is with dining rooms and items related to dining. After a slow summer, people may be gearing up to get a new dining room set in time for the holidays. This can help you out in two different ways. Get ready to get in on the sales in early October. This is when summer deals are discounted even further and before they go away for the holidays. Time it right, and you'll save a lot. Again, do your research so you know the size, style and finish for your table.

Another way to save is to purchase a used dining room table when someone else upgrades or changes their decor! Look for ads on line and in the newspaper.
